Waynesville-Donald Niel Corley, age 51, of 64 Howard Heights, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 18, 2005. He was born in Salzburg, Austria and was the son of Alice Smith Corley of Bloomsburg, PA and the late Billy Leroy Corley. He was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School in P.A. and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science from Pennsylvania State University. He was a former teacher at Waynesville Middle School and was currently a math teacher for grades 9-12 at Smoky Mountain High School. He enjoyed music, singing and entertaining and had also traveled extensively. Surviving in addition to his mother, is his wife of 19 years Lisa Synder Corley; one daughter, Alison Corley, of the home; one son, Cameron Corley, of the home; one sister, Diane Rake and her husband Wayne, of Dale City, VA; two brothers, David Corley and James Corley and his wife Deborah, of Bloomsburg, PA. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, June 22, 2005, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. Reverend Owen Fulghum will officiate. The family will receive immediately following the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Haywood County Schools Foundation, 1230 North Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
