Donald Duckett

Donald Duckett, age 81, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Jahu W. and Etta Davis Duckett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Donald was a United States Army veteran having served in Korea. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Fields Duckett; two sons, Donald Duckett, Jr. (Crystal) and Jeffrey Duckett (Rebecca); three daughters, Donna Everingham (Job), Sue Etta Shrader (Ray), and Teresa Wallace (Robert); two sisters, Millie West of Missouri, and Thelma Huggins; one brother, G.F. Duckett; eight grandchildren, Crystal Swann, Melissa West, Matthew Shrader, Jessica Duckett, Patrick Wallace, Ashley Duckett, Issac Duckett, and Logan Duckett ; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2011 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Wayne Carson officiating. Burial will follow at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
