Donald Hooker

Waynesville, Donald James Hooker, age 88, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Scottsburg, Indiana, he was a former resident of Orlando and Tampa, Florida. He was the son of the late George Ezra and Helen Mae Teague Hooker and was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hooker, and son, Gary Hooker. He was a US Army veteran having served in World War II. Donald was a retired accountant employed by Minute Maid Corporation and was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Plant City, Florida. He is survived by one son, Ron Hooker and his wife, Mary, of Maggie Valley; a sister, Loreta Alexander, of Indianapolis, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Sharon Reisinger of Memphis, Tennessee and Karen Topper of Tampa, Florida; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Private memorial services will be held and burial will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
