Donald Jones

Waynesville-Donald Leon "Don" Jones, age 67, of Hazelwood Avenue, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at this residence. A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Howard and Mackalean Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Jones, who died in 2006 and a stepbrother, Chester Kuykendall. He retired in 1997 from Lee Industry with more than 30 years service. He loved camping in his earlier years and loved taking care of his late wife. He is survived by one son, Terry Lee Jones, and two brothers, Martin and Billy Jones, both of Clyde; a sister-in-law, Eula Mae Farley and her husband, Edward, of Waynesville; a brother-in-law, Carroll "Sonny Boy" Wyatt and his wife, Willie Mae, of the Spring Creek Community; and many family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel with Reverend G.W. Jameson officiating. Entombment will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Home Health, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
