Waynesville-Donald Cecil Queen, age 47, of 373 Little Cove Road, died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at his residence.
He was a native of Forks, Washington and was the son of the late Clifford Jack and Lillian Elving Queen. He worked for the cable company as a cable splicer. He was an Army veteran. He enjoyed fishing and children.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Darlene Jones Queen; one daughter, Shelley Jones of Waynesville; one son, Zachary Putnam and his wife Cindy of Clyde; one step-son, Jesse Phillips of Waynesville; one sister, Gloria Justice of Waynesville; one brother, Billy Queen of Waynesville; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. The Reverend Phillip Wyatt will officiate. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2003 at the funeral home.
The pallbearers will be Jerry Jones, Larry Davis, Larry O'Riley, Ronnie Bryson, Jerry Warren, Dean Fowler, Steve Hendricks and Mark Hendricks.
