Donny D. Norton, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, peacefully ascended to his heavenly home on November 15, 2024, surrounded by his cherished children, Timothy (wife Brittany), Tamara (husband Kyle), and Aaron (wife Alexandra). The loss of Donny leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him deeply.
Born on May 11, 1954, in Asheville, NC, Donny was a proud graduate of the Enka High School class of 1972. He found joy in the simple pleasures of camping and fishing with his family, where he often shared laughter and stories under the stars, creating lasting memories that will now be treasured forever.
Donny's passion for riding motorcycles was a testament to his zest for life. There was nothing he loved more than hitting the open road and feeling the wind in his hair as he explored the beautiful landscapes around him. His hands always seemed to be busy with endless projects around his home, where he skillfully crafted and repaired, ever eager to create something new or improve what was before him.
In addition to his children, he is survived by his three grandsons, Aidon, Colton, and Grady; and his three older brothers, Douglas (wife Dianne), Eddie (wife Charlotte), and Tommy (wife Debbie), who will remember him fondly not only as a loving member of the family, but as a caring companion in their shared journeys through life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edd Howell Norton, and his mother, Lorena Stefanini Norton.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Browns View United Methodist Church, 25 Brownsview Church Road in Candler. Pastor Ricky Netherton will be officiating. Friends and family are invited to come together to remember Donny and to celebrate a life well-lived.
Donny's legacy of kindness, adventure, and love for his family serves as a guiding light for all who knew him.
The care of Mr. Norton has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
