Waynesville, NC – Doraine O'Della Thompson Rogers, born on February 17, 1916, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2010. A native of Truman, Minnesota, she lived most of her life in Tampa, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Olan B. and Dora M. Jacobs Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Sharp; two sons, Larry Gilbertson and Kerby Almond; one sister, Olive Hanson; and six brothers, Jule, Ted, George, Sid, Olie, and Thore Thompson. Doraine loved the outdoors especially working in her garden and also loved animals. She was also very talented with crafts, especially crocheting and knitting. She was a member of Hillsborough United Methodist Church in Tampa. Doraine was very devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by all four generations of her beloved family. She is survived by one daughter, Doris Hudson and her husband, William, of Waynesville; two sons, Fred Gilbertson of Tampa, Florida and Mickey Gilbertson and his wife, Jane, of Dawsonville, Georgia; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Sunset Memory Gardens in Tampa, Florida with Reverend Wayne Kato officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until Noon prior to the service at Gonzalez Funeral Home in Tampa. Memorials may be made to Hillsborough United Methodist Church, 9008 Harney Road, Tampa, FL 33637 or a charity of one's choice.
