Doris Adamek

December 8, 1924 — April 30, 2004

Clyde-Doris Powell Adamek, age 79, died Friday, April 30, 2004 at Britthaven of Clyde. She was a native of Jackson County and was the daughter of the late Emory Ott and Lela Ensley Powell. She was the wife of the late Ernest Adamek, who died in 1982. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, E.O., John, and Jim Powell, and by a sister, Jeanne Vance. She was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her son, Richard Johnson, of St. Petersburg, Florida, two sisters, Elizabeth Anagnost of Waynesville and Emy Christian of Beaufort, NC; three brothers, Bruce Powell and his wife Adele, George Powell and his wife Judy, and Joe Powell and his wife, Amy, all of Waynesville; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2004 at the Garrett-Hillcrest Mausoleum Chapel, with entombment to follow. The Reverend Kim Milner will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, prior to the services, at the mausoleum chapel. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
