Doris Ann Stanley Inbody

Doris Ann (Stanley) Inbody of Waynesville transitioned to her Heavenly Home from her residence, on April 9, 2024. A native of Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late F.E. (Stan) Stanley and Doris Jones Stanley. 

Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on December 20, 1933, she grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1951. She then attended Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State University, where she was a member of the Pi Phi Sorority. Her love of service led her to become an active member of PEO, as well as supporting children through Compassion International, and supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She also served as a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville, NC, as well as volunteering at The Open Doors Ministries. Her hobbies included Bowling, Gardening, and Traveling.

Before his passing in 2021, Doris was married to Roy Dean Inbody for 67 years. She is survived by two sons, Mark Inbody and Phillip Inbody, and a sister Barbara. She is reunited in Heaven with a third son, Steven. 

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church, Waynesville with Reverend Holly Davis officiating. 

The care of Mrs. Inbody has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville
