"Loving Mother"
Waynesville - Doris Ogle Dye, age 98, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Autumn Care of Waynesville.
A native of Rockland County, New York, Doris was the daughter of the late Robert Carroll Ogle and Lillian Hicks Ogle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Spencer Dye; and three sisters, Carol Woods, Elaine Adams, and Wynn Somers. Her early girlhood was spent in Trumansburg, New York and after her family moved to Ithaca, she attended high school and college there, receiving a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Cornell University.
Doris and her husband were enthusiastic supporters of the arts, especially classical music ensembles and art museums, and were collectors of fine paintings. She also enjoyed playing bridge and reading books on architecture, history and sociology.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Dye of Waynesville, Barbara Robinson and her husband, Richard, of Fort Lee, New Jersey; two sons, Bruce Dye of New York, New York and Robert Dye and his wife, Louise, of St. Helena, California; two sisters, Jean Hickey of Oneonta, New York and Jane Evans of Newton, Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Laura Paul and Sandra Montminy; and two great-grandchildren, James Paul and Natalie Paul.
