Doris Haynes

May 25, 1930 — December 8, 2008

Waynesville, Doris Wright Haynes, age 78, of 65 Church Street, died on Monday, December 8, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Sallie Raines Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Allen Haynes who died in 2004; a son, Trent Haynes; one sister, Mary White; and one brother, Jack Wright. She was a retired employee of Lea Industries and attended North Hazelwood Baptist Church. She was a very creative person and enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Harrell and her husband, Joe, of Fletcher and Harolene Stepp and her husband, Tony, of Clyde; one sister, Ruth Clark, of the Cruso Community; four sister-in-laws, Jackie and Roberta Haynes and Katherine Wright, all of Waynesville and JoAnn Leonard of Clyde; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday, December 11, 2008 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Putnam and Reverend David Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the Haynes Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Harolene Stepp, 99 Haynes Hill Road, Clyde. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28786.
