Doris Holt

Waynesville, Doris McCracken Holt, age 85, of 180 High Street, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Autumn Care Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Emerson and Grace Holder McCracken. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Kenneth Cutshaw, and a brother, David McCracken. She was a graduate of Clyde High School and a member of Fincher's Chapel United Methodist Church. Doris was a caregiver to many family members during times of need, particularly her granddaughter, Logan. Doris is survived by a daughter, Carleene Finger and her husband, Tim, of Waynesville; two sons, Michael Holt and Richie Holt and his wife, Karen, also of Waynesville; three sisters, Mary Lou McCracken, of Clyde and Johnnie Breece and Alice Frady and her husband, Don, of Waynesville; one brother, Jim McCracken and his wife, Judy, of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Christopher Holt and his wife, Kim, Travis Holt and his wife, Megan Daw, and Logan Holt; and four great-grandchildren, Josephine Holt, Skye Loving, and Oliana and Adelyn Luke. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend R. Curran Welch officiating and Eulogy delivered by Karen Holt. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services.
