Doris H. Paxton
Canton-Doris Hemby Paxton-79, of 68 Poplar Street, died Thursday, January 9, 2003 at her residence.

She was a daughter of the late David C. and Chloe Griffin Hemby. She retired from Square D and was a member of Canton First Baptist Church. She was an accomplished pianist.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dalton Paxton, one daughter, Mary Holcomb and her husband John of Boiling Springs, SC and one sister, Betsy Outen of Matthews, NC.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Dr. Rick Gosnell officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte at 2:45 p.m. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
