Doris Rhew

Maggie Valley-Doris E. Rhew, age 88, of 124 Market Street, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Wharton, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lela Woods Cauley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Rhew, who died in 1990 and two brothers, Fred and Raymond "Doug" Cauley. She was a life-long member of Morgan Avenue Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, TX and recently Dellwood Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, David Rhew of Maggie Valley and Donald Rhew and his wife, Janice, of Portland, TX; and one grandson, Jason. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bobbie Rogers and Reverend Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, TX. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, 1455 Gilliam Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
