Dorothea Bramlett

Clyde – Dorothea Chaney Bramlett, age 90, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Smoky Mountain Health Care and Rehabilitation. A native of Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Geneva Carnes Chaney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John E. Bramlett, who died in 2002; and a sister, Ellen Smith. She was a member of Clyde Central United Methodist Church and a former employee of Dayco. Dorothea loved music, playing the piano, and singing in the church choir. She is survived by two sons, John Lawrence Bramlett of Davidson and Tim Bramlett and his wife, Sharon, of Clyde; and a niece, Leslie Hardie and her husband, Danny, of Burlington. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Wells Funeral Home of Canton with the Reverend James Hart and Reverend Daniel W. Gaddy officiating.
