Dorothy Allison

Dorothy Case Allison, age 97, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Brian Center of Waynesville. She was a native of Henderson County and the daughter of the late Carl Long and Rosa Elizabeth Stepp Case. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John H. Allison; a sister, Mildred Lindsey; and a brother, Hulin Case. She retired from Hepzibah Children's Group Home with 24 years of service where she was housemother to around 60 girls. Dorothy was a member of Clyde Wesleyan Church and was a foster grandparent at St. John's School until she turned 88. She is survived by a sister, Sue Smith and her husband, Edward, of Clyde; three nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Tracy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Dane and Linda Smith, on Hideaway Hills (behind Midway Tire). Memorials may be made to Hepzibah Children's Home, 6601 Zebulon Road, Macon, Georgia 31220-7606.
