Dorothy Allison

Dorothy Case Allison, age 97, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Brian Center of Waynesville. She was a native of Henderson County and the daughter of the late Carl Long and Rosa Elizabeth Stepp Case. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John H. Allison; a sister, Mildred Lindsey; and a brother, Hulin Case. She retired from Hepzibah Children's Group Home with 24 years of service where she was housemother to around 60 girls. Dorothy was a member of Clyde Wesleyan Church and was a foster grandparent at St. John's School until she turned 88. She is survived by a sister, Sue Smith and her husband, Edward, of Clyde; three nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Tracy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Dane and Linda Smith, on Hideaway Hills (behind Midway Tire).
