Dorothy Beasley

Waynesville, Dorothy Beasley, age 80, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Harris Regional Hospital. A native of Madison County, she spent the majority of her life in Haywood County. Dot was the daughter of the late Cauley and Myrtle Suttles Beasley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Beasley, who died in 1999. Dot retired from Dayco Corporation with 32 years of service. She loved her flowers, gardening and crafts. Dot enjoyed spending time with family, and in her earlier years traveling with her husband. Dot is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Ferguson, of Florida; a son, Michael Beasley, and his wife, Betty Joe, of Maggie Valley; a sister; a brother; four grandchildren, Taylor and Will Beasley and Deryck and Danica Lance; and a great-grandchild, Ellington Franks. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Shelton Laurel Cemetery. The family will receive from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
