Dorothy M Burford

Dorothy M. Burford passed quietly the morning of Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Canton, NC at the age of 93.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Hugh Burford. She received her Registered Nursing degree from Ole Miss and was a Rehabilitation Nurse until the age of 45, she then attended UNC – Chapel Hill and received her master’s degree. 

Dorothy was an active member of Hart Theatre with her husband. She was a fabric artist and also a member of the Shady Ladies. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church, Waynesville.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer Sanner and Mark Burford (Marie Jost), grandson Zachary Sanner and his father Dan Sanner. 

There will be a memorial service for friends and family on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Waynesville with a gathering to follow at the church.
