Dorothy Cogdill

DOROTHY MAE COGDILL Waynesville-Dorothy Mae Cogdill, age 75, of 351 Allens Creek Road, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Roy H. and Mattie Lyle Cogdill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Trooper Anthony G. Cogdill. She was a receptionist for Dayco Corporation for 20 years and was later a sales associate for K-Mart for more than four years before retiring in 1992. She was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Stan Cogdill and his wife, Lena, of Waynesville; a sister, Margie Millar of Waynesville; two brothers, Fred Earl Cogdill and his wife, Bina, of Waynesville and Sam S. Cogdill and his wife, Carol, of Mooresville, NC; four grandchildren, Patrick N. Cogdill and his wife, Kellee, Stephanie F. Cogdill, Rebekah E. Holt and her husband, Bill, and Aaron N. Mundy; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:50 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Troy and John Leatherwood, Aaron N. Mundy, Steve Cogdill, John Bowman, and Tyler Howell.
