Waynesville-Dorothy A. ''Dot'' Conard, age 73 of White Oak Road, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at her residence.
She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Hobart F. and Fannie Burr McElroy Hoglen. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Hubert Lee Hoglen.
She graduated from Waynesville Township High School in 1949. She was a seamstress with Waynewood Mattress from 1955 until 1969. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, was a Sunday school teacher for 55 years, a choir member, and vacation bible school director for 40 years. She was a member of the White Oak Home Demonstration Club, loved quilting, canning, and all sorts of craftmaking.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Herbert Conard; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2004 at the Liberty Baptist Church. The Reverends Ted Reeves, Jerry Nelson, and Millard Grant will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2004 at Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services of Waynesville, where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to services.
The pallbearers will be Steve and William Carver, Ralph and Harold Hoglen, Dean Smith, Larry Boone, and Johnny Glance.
