Dorothy Edwards

Maggie Valley, Dorothy Killian Edwards, age 64, of Soco Road, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Mattie K. Killian of Maggie Valley and the late Thomas Robert Killian. Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife and mother, who loved her boys with all her heart. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of more than 45 years, Verlin Edwards; three sons, Colin and Jason Edwards of Maggie Valley and Alan Edwards of Raleigh; one sister, Harriet Jimison and her husband, Charles, of Canton; one brother, Robert Killian and his wife, Darlene, of Waynesville; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend G. David Reeves, Reverend Erma Bond, and Reverend Timothy McConnell officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
