Dorothy Fouts

"In Loving Memory" Canton – Dorothy Gladys Duvall Fouts, age 99, left this world on Thursday, April 21, 2016 to be with her Heavenly Father. Gladys was a native of Macon County, and had resided in Haywood County most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert G. Fouts, her parents, Robert R. and Hallie Parrish Duvall and a brother, Dover J. Duvall. Gladys was the oldest member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She is survived by her 101 year old sister, Nell Welch; two sons, Ed Fouts and his wife, Shelia and Danny Fouts and his wife, Linda; five grandsons, 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2016 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Chris Willett officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorials Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Silver Bluff for their loving care and support for the last 14 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Silver Bluff Nursing Home Activity Fund, 100 Silver Bluff Drive, Canton, NC 28716.
