Dorothy Franklin

Dorothy "Dot" Mull Franklin, age 67, of 38 Justice Ridge Road formerly of the Kims Cove Community in Canton went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 19, 2009, at her home. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ellen Gibson Mull. She was also preceded in death by a brother, L. B. Mull. She retired from Dayco in 1997 with 25 years of service. She was a member of Canton First Baptist Church. Dot was a loving mother and grandmother and she enjoyed her home at Lake Chatuge very much. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Earl Franklin of Canton; a son, Jeff Franklin and his wife, Angie, of Canton; two daughters, Cynthia Franklin Young, and Bob Kent of Candler and Chandra Franklin Austin and her husband, Charlie, of Candler; a sister, Gracie Mull Shoaf and her husband, Buddy, of Canton; two brothers, Winfred Mull and Charlie Mull and his wife, Hope, all of Canton; and eight grandchildren, Dovey, John, Brittany, Taylor, Jessie, Caylee, Hannah, and Logan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend W. O. "Bill" Henson officiating. Entombment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Henson, Perry McClure, Don Warner, Joe Bell, Mike Cairnes, Mike Plemmons, and Don Warren. At other times, the family will be at the home.
