Dorothy Marie Frazier, a beloved soul whose selflessness and nurturing spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024 at the age of 86, in Haywood County, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 17, 1938, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Dottie, as she was affectionately known, dedicated her life to service and love.
For over fifteen years, Dottie devoted her talents as an insurance agent at Metropolitan Life, where her caring nature and genuine concern for others allowed her to excel in her career. But it was not just in her professional life where her warmth shone bright; it was in her relationships that she truly made her mark. She became everybody’s adopted mom, always ready with a warm hug, an encouraging word, or a listening ear. Her heart was especially open to her niece, Deborah Overman, and her nephew, Michael Cogdill, whom she cherished as her own children.
Dottie was known for her generous spirit, taking care of her parents with unwavering dedication. Her love was reflected in every action she took, embodying a remarkable blend of strength and compassion. Friends and family alike will forever remember her as a beacon of light, someone who provided comfort and support to everyone around her.
In addition to her nurturing nature, Dottie was a woman of many talents. She was a gifted cake decorator, transforming each creation into edible works of art that brought joy to celebrations. When she wasn’t baking, she could be found crocheting, sewing, or indulging in various crafts, constantly creating beauty and sharing her artistic gifts with her loved ones.
Dottie reunites now with her loving parents, Herbert A. and Anna Hart Frazier, as well as her siblings, John "Jack" Frazier, Edward Frazier, and Anna Elizabeth Frazier. Their reunion is one of love and warmth, a comforting thought for those left behind.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy, cherished by her family: her niece, Deborah Overman (Lynn) of Maggie Valley; her nephew, Michael Cogdill of Elmer, NJ; and her great-nephew and great-nieces, Anthony Hickman of Maggie Valley, Amber Cogdill of Elmer, NJ, Tiffany Cogdill of Maggie Valley, Aubry Cogdill of Elmer, NJ, and Abigail Cogdill of Elmer, NJ, as well as many other extended family members and friends. They will continue to carry her memory forward, reminded of her love and grace in their daily lives.
In honoring Ms. Frazier’s wishes, there will be no services will be held at this time.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dottie's friends at Mantua United Methodist Church's "J.U.G. Club" whose phone calls and cards filled with love have been a blessing for her.
Dorothy Marie Frazier will be forever remembered not only for her contributions to her community and family but also for the boundless love she gave so freely. The world is a little dimmer without her, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
The care of Ms. Frazier has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
