Dorothy Hampton

Waynesville, Dorothy "Dot" Hampton, age 82, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Autumn Care. Dorothy was a native of Jackson County and was the daughter of the late David Earl and Mary Lou Ray Callahan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Hampton, who passed away in 2009 and a sister, Helen Callahan. Dorothy had worked at Clyde's and Jim's Restaurant in Waynesville, Waynesville Country Club and Smith's Pharmacy in Hazelwood. She was of Baptist faith. She is survived by two daughters, Loretta Rich and her husband, David, of Waynesville and Linda Cribb and her husband, Danny, of Clyde; a son, Kenny Hampton and his wife, Stephanie, of Clyde; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kenny Banks officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
