Dorothy Moody

Dorothy Wells Moody, age 56, died Monday, May 2, 2005 at Memorial Mission Hospital as the result of a car accident on Wednesday, April 27th. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Glenn "Blackie" and Annie Mae West Wells. She was a volunteer secretary at Emmanuel Lutheran Church School and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. In addition to her husband of 39 years, William Jackson Moody of Canton, she is survived by a daughter Priscilla Smith of Canton; a son Chris Moody and his wife, Sonya of Canton; two sisters, Wanda Wells of Canton and Ruthann Meadows of Asheville; two brothers, Johnny Wells of Arden and Hugh Wells of Maggie Valley and four grandsons, Tyler, Jordan and Wilson Moody and Colt Smith. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Asheville and a graveside service will also be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2005 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend R. Mark Nieting officiating. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church School, 51 Wilburn Place, Asheville, NC 28806.
