Dorothy Poore

Waynesville-Dorothy Elizabeth Poore, age 83, of 1399 Allens Creek Road, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, she had formerly lived in Virginia and had resided in Haywood County for the past 18 years. She was the daughter of the late Timothy and Anna Almen. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Marvin Poore and two brothers. She enjoyed crocheting and pencil drawing. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Watson Poore; one daughter, Charlene Parker and her husband, Bill, of Waynesville; two sons, Steve Poore and his wife, Naomi, of Asheville, and Allen Poore and his wife, Pat, of Waynesville; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a nephew, Marvin Norman, of California. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at Hice Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jim Brackett officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald and Michael Moody, David and Lee Poore, Matt Moon, and Tim and Ed Massey, Jr.
