Dorothy Roberts

"1936 – 2014" Clyde – Dorothy Carrington "Dot" Roberts, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, entering her eternal life on the same date as her physical birth. A native of Henry County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late J. D. and Adell Crawford Carrington. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Junior Carrington. She was a member of Calvary Road Baptist Church. Dot served as pianist at several churches in Haywood County and she had a great love for gospel music having sung with the Peaceful Echos and Heartfelt Quartets. Dot especially enjoyed traveling and camping all over North America with her husband, Kenneth. They visited 49 states and much of Canada. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Roberts of Clyde; two daughters, Christine Roberts and Debra R. Meadows and her husband, Paul, all of Clyde; a sister, Norma Worley of Asheville; three grandchildren, Jason Cordell, Natasha Sidwell, and Dustin Siske; and four great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Cordell, Emilee Lister, Phoenix Cordell, and Parker Sidwell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Ted Reeves and Reverend Cecil Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
