Dorothy Smith

Dorothy 'Dot' Jean Smith, 76, of Candler, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Mission Hospitals. She was a daughter of the late Mattie Trantham and Carl Clark. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Carlene Davis.

Born in Canton, NC, Dot moved to Buncombe County after marrying Bill Smith in 1953. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Dot loved her children and especially her grandchildren. She was a hard worker and loved rainy days and cool weather.

Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Kell 'Bill' Smith of the home, sons, Gene Bryant and wife Barbara of VA, William 'Bill' Smith and fianc' Leni Allen of CO, daughters, Hilda Pressley and husband Billy of Candler and Teresa Engelen and husband Arthur of CA, grandchildren, Anthony Cox, Tina Honeycutt, Sandra Rushing, Gregory Bryant, Brandon Warren, Brandy Murphy and Kelsie Pressley, 10 great-grandchildren, two bothers, Homer Clark of Canton and Max Clark of FL, one sister, Martha Sue Simmons of FL and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 11AM on Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler with Pastor Lewis Gibson officiating.
