Dorothy Williamson

Dorothy Thomas Williamson, age 77 of Burnette Cove died Thursday, July 28, 2005 at Mountain Area Hospice Solace. She was a native of Swain County and had resided in Haywood County for 45 years. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Virgie Stallcup Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Bo" Williamson who died in 1990 and a sister, Mary Lee Oliver. She was employed with Champion International for 14 years and a former employee of American Enka. She attended Burnette Cove Baptist Church. She is survived by three sisters, Carolyn Cheek of Canton, Alethea Mae Smith of Bryson City and Maxine Hundley of Fieldale, VA; a brother, John Thomas of Timberville, VA and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2005 at New Cruso Cemetery with the Reverend Barry Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Wells Funeral Homes of Canton. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, P. O. Box 16, Asheville, NC 28802.
