In Loving Memory Canton – Dorothy McIntyre Worley, age 86, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Myrtle McIntyre Valentine. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Clyde Worley, who died in 2010 and a son, Allan Clyde Worley, who died in 1993. She was a devoted member of Beaverdam Baptist Church for almost 70 years where she sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and supported the Christian Sympathy Ministry. She was employed by Paxar Corporation as a weaver. Dorothy was a spunky lady who was never afraid of speaking the truth in love. She will be remembered for always looking well put together and was deeply admired for her devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She was also a wonderful cook of which many of her casseroles were her family's favorites. Dorothy is survived by a son, Keith Worley and his wife, Margaret, of Canton; granddaughter, Janalyn Scott; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Tallan Scott; a special nephew, Rex Worley; and a special friend and caregiver, Regina Carver. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Reverend Harry Worley and Reverend Gene Worley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
