Douglas Roberts

Douglas Howell Roberts, age 66, died Saturday, December 8, 2007. He was the son of Genevieve Howell Roberts of Canton and the late Richard L. Roberts. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Roberts Holcomb. Doug was a member of Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 13 years, Ella Ree Fish Roberts; two stepdaughters, Debbie Harrod of Bordentown, NJ and Sherry Sutton of Florence, SC; a stepson, Bobby Harrod of Waynesville; two special nieces, Cynthia Holcomb Sellinger and Amy Holcomb Trantham, both of Candler; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Holcomb of Canton. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Canton with the Reverend Rob Fuquay and Reverend William McNeill officiating. Inurnment will follow at The Horizon at Crawford Ray. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Doug will be remembered by his family and friends for his love of cars, photography, music and German Shepherds. His humor brightened many days for us.
