Doyce Franklin

July 8, 1926 — March 18, 2007

Canton - Doyce Martin Franklin, of 21 Grand Drive, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at his residence. A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Sherman Weaver and Sallie Belle Williams Franklin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mae Belle Trull Franklin and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Martha Ann Revis Franklin; two step-daughters, Debbie Burleson of Asheville and Pam Burress of Canton; two step-sons, Dexter Williams of Asheville and Randy Williams of Leicester; one brother, G.S. Franklin of Greenville, SC; seven step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and special niece, Jan. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at New Cruso Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley and Reverend Jimmy Burress officiating. The family will receive friends at any time at his residence. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721 or to Mount Zion Baptist Church, 269 Dix Creek Road, Canton, NC 28716.
