Doyle Clark

Candler-Doyle James Clark- 69 of 111 Luther Road died Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was a son of the late Gorman and Lillie Anders Clark. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Louise Israel. He retired from BASF in 1994 with 33 years of service. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his former wife Helen Clark, three sons, Eddie and Gary Clark, and Jimmy Clark and his wife Carol all of Candler, three sisters, Gladys Wilson, Melitta Burnette and Vergie Williams all of Candler, one brother, Charles "Bud" Clark of Polk Co., 2 grandchildren; Leigh Ann Clark and Brittany Leigh Clark and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Claude Surrett officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Candler. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
