Waynesville

Waynesville, Duryea Theodore "Ted" Stevens, age 88, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Mission Hospital.

A native of Long Island, New York, he was the son of the late Duryea Joseph and Anna Frances Nichols Stevens.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Roger Stevens.  Over the years Ted’s love for life and creating memories were part of the variety of things that he cherished.  As a family- oriented man, the one thing that he valued above all else was spending time with his wife Edith and his family.  Ted enjoyed many years traveling the country with his wife, spending the winter skiing with his children and grandchildren, and spending the summers tending to his garden.  Ted had a passion for helping others, by volunteering his time within the community and always willing to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his loving wife, Edith Eckert Stevens; four daughters, Barbara Anne Ortiz (Bobby) of Jacksonville, FL, Marilyn Stevens and Linda German, all of Melbourne, FL and Edith Menzel ("Bob") of Nashville, TN; two sons, Edward Stevens (Robin) of Melbourne, FL and David Stevens of Palm Bay, FL; a sister, Dorothy Turnau; a brother, Richard Stevens; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
