Earl Baity

November 18, 1930 — October 8, 2003

Waynesville-Earl H. Baity, age 72, of 19 Liner Street, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Wallace H. and Margaret Phillips Baity. He was former owner and operator of Baity Used Appliances in Frog Level and was a member of Sulphur Springs Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Christine Baity; three daughters, Faye Gass and her husband, Jerry, of Easley, SC, Earlene Payne and her husband, Michael, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Janet Klein and her husband, Guadalupe, of Burnsville, NC; one son, Donald E. Baity, of Asheville; one sister, Lucille McCarson, and her husband, Joe, of Asheville; two brothers, Fred W. Baity and his wife, Evelyn, of Concord, NC and William E. Baity and his wife, Carolyn, of Etowah, NC; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Wyatt and Reverend Claude Surrett officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Monday prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be nephews.
