Earl Clark

"Loving husband, father and grandfather"

Waynesville, Earl G. Clark, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at his residence.

He was born in the Crabtree Community of Haywood County and was the son of the late Roy and Lucy Green Clark. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Neal Clarke. He was employed for 29 years at Dayco where he worked as a technician. Earl was very community-minded and was honored to serve as an Alderman for the Town of Waynesville for 14 years. He was a member of the Waynesville Fire Department and served on the ABC Board. He enjoyed going to Lake Douglas, was an avid Tar Heel basketball fan, and volunteered at the Tuscola football games, moving the chains. Earl was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church.

Earl is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Kilby Clark; two daughters, Karen Barnett (Doug) of Waynesville, Donna Smith of Clyde; a son, Larry Clark, of Atlanta; a sister, Jewel Kilby, of Sebring, Florida; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Scotty Patrick and Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to services.
