Earl Huffman

Waynesville-Earl David Huffman, age 65, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Harris Regional Hospital. A native of Haywood County, he had lived much of his life in Virginia. He was the son of Elizabeth McGinnis and the late Zilla Rosvelt Huffman. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Trembulis and Carolyn Chambers. He was employed as a foreman for 32 years with Pembroke Construction Company in Hampton, VA and retired in 1998. In addition to his mother, he is survived four daughters, Pamela Handle and her husband, Hunter, of Yorktown, VA, Bonnie Smith and her husband, Donnie, of Gloucester, VA, Susan Radford and her husband, Henry, and Betty Grottke, all of Hampton, VA; a son, Randy Murphy and his wife, Ella, also of Hampton, VA; two sisters, Dorothy Trevathan of Hampton, VA and Margaret Dobbins of Waynesville; a brother, Bob Huffman and his wife, Kathy, of Dobson, NC; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend James Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
