Waynesville – William Earl Rhinehart, 83, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Haywood House.
Earl was a native of Haywood County and a son of the late William Ray and Elizabeth Stephenson Rhinehart. Earl proudly worked at Champion Paper as a heavy machine operator and retired in 1995 with 35 years of service. Earl enjoyed being outdoors and liked fishing, working in his yard, camping, gardening, and being with his pets.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Sawyer Rhinehart; two sons, Dean Rhinehart, and his wife, Tamra, of Waynesville and Kim Rhinehart, and his wife, Cheryl, of Waynesville; four stepchildren, Patricia Yarborough (Everett), Karen Stamey (Mike), Phillip Smathers (Nancy), and Robin Smathers Gibson; one brother, Bob Rhinehart, and his wife, Mary, of Dawsonville, Georgia; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Piney Grove UMC Cemetery in Canton with the Reverend Harry Worley officiating.
The care of Mr. Rhinehart has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
