Earl Taylor

Candler-Earl Gordon Taylor, age 72 of 130 Hominy Baptist Church Road died Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at Brian Center of Weaverville.

He was a son of the late William G. and Bessie Collette Taylor and was a member of Hominy Baptist Church. He was a United States Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gwenillian E. Taylor, one daughter, Cynthia T. Meade of Candler, four sons, Anthony Earl Taylor of Marshall, Andrew Jackson Taylor of Leicester, Neil Gordon Taylor and Michael Eric Taylor, both of Candler, one sister, Betty Williams of Candler, two brothers, William T. Taylor of Candler, Robert Taylor of Old Fort and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2003 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Alf Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
