Earleen Howell

Waynesville, Earleen Messer Howell, age 77, of Grindstone Road, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at her home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Earl Jennings and Louise Bryson Messer and was also preceded in death by an infant daughter. Earleen was employed at Dayco for 35 years and was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church. Earleen loved to travel, go to the lake, and help her friends. Earleen is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim Howell; a brother, Ralph Messer and his wife, Angie, of Waynesville; a brother-in-law, Neil T. Howell and his wife, Barbara, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and nephews, Andrew Messer and his wife, Christina, and Michael Messer and his wife, Alisha. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Dellwood Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Rogers and Reverend Barry Willett officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael, Andrew, Billy, Bobby, Claude, and Joe Jack Messer. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Crawford and Bill Reynolds. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the church.
