Edgar Reece

Edgar Roland Reece, age 67, of Reece Ranch Road died Friday, January 11, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late C. M. Dow and Mabel Henson Reece. He retired in 2000 from Blue Ridge Paper Products with 25 years of service and was a former employee of American Enka. Edgar was a member of East Fork Baptist Church and loved NASCAR racing and visiting with his many campground friends. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elizabeth McCarter Reece; a son Michael Owen of Arden; two sisters and their husbands, Elizabeth and Homer Pless and Naomi and Curtis Henderson all of Canton; several nieces and nephews; and his cat, Cheyenne. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2008, at New Cruso Cemetery with the Reverend Greg Cullen and Pastor Jake Cagle officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
