Edith Cates

Edith H. Cates, 88, of Candler, passed away on Thursday, February 27th, 2014. She was born in Talisi, AL to the late William and Lilian Holman. Edith was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a lifelong Christian. She was a hard worker all of her life, and had been a certified nurse, dental assistant and artist. Edith married her beloved husband, Edward, in Montgomery, AL and was the best wife a man could ask for. They sang Alto and Baritone as part of the Roving Aires Quartet in Mobile, AL for 2 years.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edward F. Cates; sister, Bernice Walters and twin sister, Edna Wall.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 2nd at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn from 2-3PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, March 4th in the Chapel of Faith at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn with Rev. Donnie Walker officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
