Edith Ewart

March 1, 1927 — September 26, 2003

Canton - Edith Henson Ewart, age 76, died Friday, September 26, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Blain and Millie Haynes Henson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh William Ewart who died in 1981 and a sister, Ruby Haney.

She retired from American Enka with 32 years of service and was a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Betty Cope of Canton and Judy Sahadeo of Raleigh; five brothers, Troy Henson of Waynesville, Roy Henson of Canton, Ray Henson of New York, Ralph Henson of Waynesville and Gary Henson of Canton.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2003 at Meadow Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Bobby Winebarger, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Wells Funeral Homes of Canton where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Gary Henson, 50 Skyview Drive, Canton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Haywood Medical Center Hospice, Home Health Building, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
