Edith Ferguson

Waynesville-Edith Rogers Ferguson, age 87, of Arrowhead Cove, Canton, formerly of Rolling Green Drive, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Cauley and Ruth Ann Ferguson Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George T. Ferguson, who died in 1980; a sister, Pauline Clement; and a brother, Kenneth Rogers. She graduated from Fines Creek High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville, where she was a former Sunday School teacher, a GA and an Acteen leader. She was a member of WMU, Prime Time Choir, and Golden Friendship Club. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn F. Hall and her husband, Jerry, of Clyde; a son, David R. Ferguson and his wife, Glenna, of Waynesville; two sisters, Mary Davis and Nellie Bly Cathy, both of Waynesville; two brothers, Bill and Paul Rogers, also of Waynesville; 3 grandchildren, Karen L. Hall of Clyde, David R. Ferguson, Jr. of Belmont, NC, and Jerry Stephen Hall, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Hartsville, SC. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Timothy Burnette and Reverend Alan Davis officiating. Music will be provided by Reverend Josh Walls. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be David Ferguson, Jr., Charles and Ronald Rogers, Joe Ferguson, Jerry Stephen Hall, Jr., and Jim Warren.
