Edith Goodman

"1922-2016" Canton – Edith Elizabeth Cole Goodman, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William Garvin and Minta Elmyra Searcy Cole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Tommy" Goodman, Sr., who died in 2002. She is survived by two daughters, Myra Mente and her husband, Bill and Margaret Millsaps and her husband, David, all of Canton; a son, Thomas "Scott" Goodman, Jr. and his wife, Alecia, of Waynesville; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday June 20, 2016 at Canton First Baptist Church with her grandson, Reverend Chad Sloan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Silver Bluff Nursing Home Activity Department, 100 Silver Bluff Drive, Canton, NC 28716.
