Edith King Williams

Edith King Williams, born on Sunday, May 25, 1941, in Haywood County, North Carolina, peacefully passed away at her residence in Buncombe County on Friday, November 8, 2024. She lived a fulfilling life dedicated to her family and community, and her warm presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Williams was a devoted homemaker who cherished the moments spent with her family and friends. She found immense joy in sharing life with them, fostering connections that have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Her love for gospel music and the comfort she found within the church were central to her life, enriching her spirit and providing a source of strength and happiness.

Edith is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Harold Williams of Asheville. Together, they built a nurturing home. She is also survived by her three daughters: Darlene Rice (Rick) of Candler, NC, Sharon Taylor of Marion, NC, and Sherri Luker (Jamie) of Tuckasegee, NC. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Glennie Stines King, along with four brothers and one sister. Additionally, she mourned the loss of one great-grandson. Each of these relationships shaped Edith's life and contributed to the beloved matriarch she became.

A Graveside Service will be held at noon on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Jones Valley Church Cemetery with Reverend Roger Luker officiating. The family will received friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. 

Edith King Williams leaves behind a rich tapestry of love and memories. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
