Edith Lawrence

Fairview- Edith Rogers Lawrence - age 95 died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Fleshers Fairview Health Care Center. She was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Reverend Baylus and Susie Cogburn Rogers and the wife of the late Robert Joseph Lawrence, Sr. Edith enjoyed making ceramics and singing with the Harmonets at the First Baptist Church of Canton. She is survived by one son, Robert Joseph Lawrence, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Granbury, TX; one sister, Ruth Johnston, of Asheville; one brother, Earl Rogers and his wife, Elizabeth, of Asheville; six grandchildren, Robert Lawrence III, Carroll, James and Christopher Lawrence, David Deaver and Debra Delcorral; six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2006 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Carl Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
