Waynesville, Edith Pauline Morrow Messer, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation.
A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Mae Burr Morrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Edward Lee "Tommy" Messer, who died in March 2021. She enjoyed working in her flowers, camping, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
Edith is survived by two daughters, Sheila Messer and Julie Messer Robinson; son, Kyle Messer (Martha); sister, Helen Devine; two brothers, Bennie Morrow (Dorothy) and Jerry Morrow; all of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Jonathan Miller (Kasey) and Kalem Robinson; and two great-grandchildren, Kensleigh Miller and Kaleigh Holcombe.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be David Boyd, Robert Cutshaw, Gregg Parrott, Keith Crawford, Tony Long and Marion Ferguson.
The care of Mrs. Messer has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
