Edith Raby

Candler- Edith Morgan Raby- age 83 died Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Hominy Valley Retirement Center. She was a native of Macon County but had lived most of her life in Buncombe County and was the daughter of the late Davis and Mattie Sanders Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Raby, who died in 1974, a son, James David Raby, who died in 2002 and a brother, Wallace Morgan who died in 1973. Mrs. Raby retired from American Enka Corporation in 1985 and was a member of Good News Baptist Church. She loved gardening and her flowers. She is survived by two sons, Paul Edgar "Eddie" Raby and his wife, Janet of Las Vegas, NV and Carroll Wallace Raby and his wife, Barbara of Candler; one brother, Eugene C. Morgan of Franklin and one granddaughter, Kate Nicole Robledo and her husband, Daniel of Las Vegas, NV. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
